asterisk-flite software package provides flite module for Asterisk, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install asterisk-flite
asterisk-flite is installed in your system.
Make ensure the asterisk-flite package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep asterisk-flite *
You will get with asterisk-flite package name, version, architecture and description in a table
